Why We Pre-Order

In a world that’s getting faster, we believe that slowing down the way we make things is better for people and the planet. Here’s why…

BETTER FOR YOU:

Our approach is centred on innovation... we’re not here to follow. When we started out, we set two rules - never cut corners, never compromise. We work with specialist manufacturers and only ever use the best fabrics and components. Each of our designs goes through a rigorous testing proces, first in the lab and then on the road. Small production runs ensure the highest levels of quality control are maintained. This formula creates excellent products, it also keeps margins tight. By pre-ordering, you’re supporting us as we try new ideas, take risks, challenge conventions and ultimately, create better products that enhance the trips we go on. When all is said and done, this is what it’s about.

BETTER FOR THE PLANET:

We all know there’s a problem, we all know things need to change - as someone who loves the outdoors we’d wager that, like us, you want to help. If you’ve found your way here and like our approach, we’re pretty sure that you already value clothing that’s built to last. Choosing to own fewer, better quality garments that get better with age is a simple way to take pressure off the environment. Pre ordering takes this a step further. Before going into production, one of the biggest challenges is knowing how many of each size and colour to make. Pre-ordering removes the guess-work. It means we can only order what we need and the best part... knowing that every single product we make has a home before we go into production. Zero waste, this is the future.

BETTER FOR MAKERS:

A fibre is grown, that fibre is turned into a yarn, the yarn into a fabric, the fabric into a garment. It’s a labour intensive process with each step as important as the next. To make the best clothing, it’s vital to support every link in the chain. Over decades, fast fashion and product discounting have put pressure on all parts of manufacturing - lowering quality, wages and working conditions. Pre-ordering is the antidote to this. It allows us to pay our specialist manufacturers before going into production who, in turn, can then pay their suppliers upfront. As this goodwill moves up the supply chain, it helps to relieve pressure. A win, win for everyone who helps to bring our designs to life.
