When we set out to engineer a collection of functional motorcycle clothing we knew we’d have to be strict - if a detail doesn’t serve a purpose we either adapt it until it does or remove it. Very, very rarely do we allow ourselves to stray from this path. The Putscombe Belt is a product in which we did just that.
For a number in the studio, the first time we rode a motorcycle was following dirt tracks through the tropics. It was an experience that planted the seed and as such; we wanted to create a motif inspired by these formative rides. The contrast colour back section of the Putscombe Belt has been embossed by a hand carved heated brass roller which transfers its pattern to the leather. The solid brass buckle was cast in the Midlands and all of the leather-work was done here in London, a five-minute ride from our studio.
