Porto Factory Visit
With the Wilks Overshirt and Otto Shortsleeve in production, we caught a flight over to Portugal to visit the factory and see them being made.
As we only launch a handful of products each year, it’s always exciting when one of our garments goes into production - a moment we never miss.
Our factories are roughly an hour north of Porto - a city that’s become a home from home. We know the breakfast spots, the best wine bars. There’s a seafood place we’ve been eating at for over a decade… you’ll find us there most evenings.
Because our clothes have technical details, construction is always complicated. When starting a new project, technical drawings only go so far.
These trips give us time with our pattern cutters and garment techs - to work things through in person. We mock up details, test fabrics, and solve problems quickly. Hands on, it feels dynamic, alive. Nothing beats it.
Being on the move is the perfect chance to test what we’re developing. To see how a garment feels in use. To find out what works, what doesn’t, what’s missing.
Walking the streets, there’s always something new to see - and the spark of fresh inspiration. In every way, these trips are a highlight.
