Design Notes

For this project, we partnered with a renowned French cutler, founded in 1896. The handle is made from a folded piece of brushed 18/10 stainless steel.The hardened steel screw has a non-stick coating, helping it to cut cleanly into the cork. A groove running around the outer edge reduces friction - making it easier to rotate. This contoured profile increases grip, lowering the chance of the cork splitting when removed.

Unlike conventional bottle openers, the serrated blade and corkscrew are secured with brass screws. This makes maintenance easy and allows the parts to be replaced (although, it's unlikely you'll ever need to). Both are sprung with a solid steel bar, ensuring they stay locked in place during use. To cover all bases, we included a beer bottle opener on the steel lever.
