Design Notes

For the Wilks Overshirt, we’ve used a 300 g/m ripstop. It took some time to find this fabric; the dense weave cuts out wind, it’s hardwearing but not stiff - a great year-round weight that will age well, perfect for travel.

The vent across the back allows air to circulate. This works like an inbuilt thermostat, regulating body temperature. We first developed this detail for the Hockliffe Jacket and have had such great feedback, that we're planning to make this a signature detail across all of our shirts and jackets.

On the front, a large buttoned chest pocket keeps the essentials secure, a smaller second pocket gives quick access to passports and tickets. We tested five pocket designs before choosing this configuration - it comes into its own when on the move.

To give character, we’ve chosen to over-dye the Wilks Overshirt. The corozo buttons are made at a family run factory on the outskirts of Porto and finished a shade darker than the fabric.

We wanted this garment to double as a light jacket, and so removed the collar stand, cut the body straight and flattened the hem. Small adjustments that many wouldn’t notice, these are the details that matter.
