Design Notes

The majority of motorcycle clothing fastens in the centre. When layered, these openings align to give wind an easy route through. By making the Killian Vest double-breasted, we’ve created a barrier that greatly increases wind resistance and, at the same time, doubles the thermal insulation at the front of the garment. To further trap heat and reduce the effects of windchill, the two overlapping panels are lined with a 100% windproof membrane. The thermal wadding we’ve used is 100% recycled and the outer shell is made from a densely woven BCI Cotton that’s finished with a water repellent (DWR) coating in Scotland.

Extending the opening across the body has created room for an asymmetric, expandable drop pocket - perfect for stashing things when on two wheels. Releasing the pop-studs on the underside of the pocket allows the bellows to expand - doubling the amount it can store. In the lower section, a zipped compartment keeps valuables secure.

To seal the double-breasted opening, pop-studs hold the internal panel in place. The outer panel is fastened with large horn buttons that are easy to open when wearing gloves. A stepped hem keeps the lower back covered when reaching for the bars. The Killian Vest has two deep handwarmer pockets and is finished with our AW monogram rivet neatly placed in the bottom corner of the drop pocket. This is a garment that will earn its keep year-round, on and off the bike.
